It’s that time of year again…Every summer Dripping Springs opens its pool for the summer swim team. It’s an incredible way to keep the kids active and cool during the summer. We had group and individual pictures today. Retakes will be announced soon for those of you who missed it.
Our new Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Director, Kelly Schmidt, has also begun our first ever free Alamo Draft House “Movie in the Park” this summer. Last week’s featured film was Monster House (my little ones favorite ;) It’s a great family event and the night was absolutely perfect! Concessions are available, just remember some chairs and blankets. The next film will be The Goonies on August 23rd beginning at dusk (9ish)…Don’t forget about teen night at the pool with henna tattoos, karaoke, and more from 7:30 - 9:30 Friday’s (June 27th, July 18th & August 8th) contact Mike Colman, Dripping Springs Aquatics Director at 512-858-0000 for more information.
Also underway is the “Adopt a Park” program. Our family will be adopting Founder’s Park! If you are interested in volunteering and supporting your community, please contact Kelly directly at the City of Dripping Springs (512) 858-4725.
One other note: Wimberley Players will be presenting The Wizard of Oz, directed by Lee Colee-Atnip.
Opening night is June 20th, 2008 and runs for 9 days! Congratulations to my scarecrow! We love you!
